So you still get error 83 and 96 even if the PCCARDS aren't inserted
when you do suspend/resume?  That's interesting since I *only* get
errors when I have the PCCARDs inserted.

Are you trying to suspend/resume with the power cable on?  It won't do
it very well on both my laptops.
