Hm.  The superblock reference tells me something went wrong with the 
install.  You might try deleting the partition and trying again.

Did you try `ls' at the boot prompt to see what kernels are available?

Did you boot with `wd(1,a)/kernel' ?

No, it wouldn't boot at all then (unless you accidentally tweaked your 
wd0).

It's in the handbook, BUT you have to have a working system to do it.
