I've experienced the problem as well, and this somehow seems to be related to the forwarders line in my named.conf. The funny thing I have observed is that when I forward off a server running bind9, this problem manifests itself, but when I revert to forwarding off a server running bind8, the problem goes away. The problem also goes away if I don't use any forwarders....
