Please be more specific about when you get > lockups, etc. yes I heard this answer before but it doesn't help... sorry. after booting -s, it does go to the /bin/sh prompt. it seems to be still running, but I don't see anything (the non-highlighted text seems not to be displayed) if I press enter, something is going on (disk activity). after ^D it freezes.
