From: "Ted Mittelstaedt" To: "Emanuel Haupt" , Cc: Subject: RE: i386/51129: ACPI problem, booting from install cd fails Date: Sat, 10 May 2003 16:33:22 -0700 Did you say you could get the system installed by turning off acpi in /boot/loader.conf with set hint.acpi.0.disabled="1" If so, it may be that hint.acpi.0.disabled="1" is not being added to /boot/loader.conf by sysinstall. If that is the case then once the system is installed and you reboot it, interrupt the boot and put the set hint.acpi.0.disabled="1" a second time, then once the system has booted, hand edit /boot/loader.conf and add this. ACPI has been reported to be broken on other hardware, it appears to be like the other PC "standards" full of exceptions.
