I understand your concern :-) but I believe it is not possible (to copy your kernel to a boot floppy) since the boot floppy contains a special compressed kernel and a special compression/link mechanism to include all necessary binaries in one multiply linked file. You can do if you learn how to build a release (this requires some skill and a lot of disk space and time).
