keep getting this error like so;

after "faxq" and "hfaxd -i hylafax"
then "faxstat" gets me;

HylaFAX scheduler on tracker: Running
Modem cuaa1 (+1.999.555.1212): Waiting for modem to come ready

Modem is OK works for other applications - faxaddmodem checks it
out OK as usr 2.0 faxmodem

I don't seem to have anything being logged either - that
might point me to the problem.  

I'm using FreeBSD 3.4 and XFree86 3.3.6
