Flag day? Sender: owner-freebsd-current@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG The details of your installation, hardware and software before the conversion and the steps you took in the aout-to-elf conversion are interesting. Maybe a para on your hardware, a para on your pre-conversion software, and, three para's on what steps you took in the conversion and any error messages you saw. Did the 'make aout-to-elf' complete without error? What did you mean by '- many drivers died (ethernet de0 was the killer)'? Could this have been trashing /etc/rc* while using mergemaster? As I said in a different thread, I worry VERY MUCH about things that muck with the rc scripts. IMHO, by hand, ONLY! Can you preserve the rc* files before scribbling on the disk? Boot a floppy, mount the hard disk, and, look at /etc/rc*? If they are trashed, you may not have to do a new install. tomdean To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-current" in the body of the message
