Normally, yes. There is only one branch of the ports. I said "normally". Recently gettext has been split. What was gettext is now gettext-old, and what was gettext-devel is now gettext. This can cause an automatic portupgrade to fail. At least it does for me. I would at least (in my opinion) upgrade gettext first before anything else.
