The threads libraries don't have any strong symbols that don't begin with an underscore: $ nm /usr/obj/.../lib/libc_r/libc_r.so.5 | grep " T " If libc also doesn't have any strong symbols (at least for the functions you want to check), then I suppose you can check the linked application for these (strong) definitions.
