However, I am having problems going from a 2.1.5R system to a 2.1.0R system. I can use the remote tar going from the 2.1.0R box to the 2.1.5R box. Unfortunately, the tape drive is on the 2.1.0R box. I have a Solaris 2.4 box that can use the tape on the 2.1.0R box. Solaris doesn't seem to be as picky as 2.1.5R. I suspect the 2.1.5R is trying to use kerberos authentication with the 2.1.0R box and fails. I thought it should give me a message, but it just hangs. When I do an rsh to the 2.1.0R box from the 2.1.5R box it hangs the same as the rmt tar does. But when I do a rsh -K (no kerberos option) it works. Can anyone shed some more light on this?
