Only works for C (-like) programming code, others (non-programming
included) may be a problem.

Of course, I prefer changes in the post-patch target of the Makefile.
Or we can put the patch in the files/ directory.  Since we've only run
into the problem once before, maybe we can handle it better in other
ways?
