Not sure about sh(1), but in csh(1) try adding the following alias
to your ~/.cshrc:
cd \!*;set prompt="`hostname`:`pwd`{\!}% "
which gives:
marder-1:/usr/marko{53}%

Add extra entries in /etc/ttys. Copy the entry for ttyv1 (and rename
it to ttyv{4,5,6} etc). Note that ttyv3 already exists, it's the
tty that X runs from.
