I got a scsi0: Referenced SCB 255 not valid during SELTO and the machine stoped any disc accesses (while performing never ending SCSI resets). The light of the host adapter was permanently on during that. My hardware is a 2940 (AIC7871 Rev. 3), and I backed up a Conner 1GB SCSI disk (ID 0) to a HP SCSI DAT (ID 2). I had enabled SCB paging and tagged queueing. I never had a problem with disk-only access. As reported before the /proc/scsi/aic7xxx/0 statistics still store tape wites as reads! I copied some of the messages by hand; maybe they are helpful, but I was unable to capture any messages to a disc; sorry! SCSISEQ = 0x5a SEQADDR=0x4 SSTAT0=0x15 SSTAT1=0x8a Ulrich
