You won't find, by now, free SW that emulates Windows 95/NT with all the capabilities/compatibility you need for these native SWs, but, instead, you will find dozens of SWs which do exactly the same, and more. Usually they do a lot better than Windows based SWs. In short: you will have OHTER tools which are compatible/do the same thing, but you - as a rule - won't be able to run THE application itself. (you have tools to play with ZIP files, which are not WinZIP, ok ?). Give FBSD a try, get used to it and send your Windows to the trash can. :) See YA ! I am used to working in a windows environment and I was just wondering if my applications that I have on Windows 95 would still be able to work on X Windows which I am told I would get with FreeBSD. Applications that I am talking about are WinZip, Cheyenne BitWare, FTP, word processing, E-mail, etc. Would I be able to install these programs as usual as I would in Windows ? Please get back to me as I am interested to know these things and possibly even install FreeBSD on my PC. PS : Do you know where I would be able to obtain my own copy of FreeBSD.
