The cvsup only updates the source files and not the system. I cvsup weekly but only do "world" once a month (unless something ctitical need a fix). The weekly cvsup spreads the time (daily even more) to keep the sources updated. It's then a matter of preference. You can do a bunch of short time updates or a longer one based on when you want to do the update to the actual system.... or some combination thereof....
