In conjuction with the multimedia folks and Hannu we are working on
a new sound driver which will replace the stuff on -current.
So please if you are going to work on the sound driver join the
multimedia mailing list:

Trust me I really don't mine checking in the new sound driver when is
ready. I am saying this because I am well aware that some of the
folks hacking on the old sound driver are aware of the new Voxware
driver.
