No, you're running the same code.  What you're missing is that the
V20/V30 are instruction-set compatible with the 188/186, they just
don't have the onboard peripherals that the Intel parts have.

Trust me; you can run real-mode '286 code on a V20/V30.  I have done
this.  I _believe_ that the Hedley emulator is up to this.
