A summary of your original message:

I have a 24/7 connection and couldn't be bothered to figure out how
to do dial-on-demand. Can someone tell me what to do ?

My response stands. Read the manual. You clearly haven't read it or
you would have seen mention of the word ``demand'' and might have been
able to figure something out for yourself. How about a bit of
experimentation. If things don't behave as you expect, *then*, by
all means, post a question.

Oh, and you may want to supply some information too - like what
version of FreeBSD you're running.

Wake up & smell the coffee - very few people will help you out unless
you're seen to be at least trying to help yourself.
