single user mode might be favorable, I think.
But at least /usr must be mounted read-only, when bad144 is on it.
I tried bad144 on multi-user mode, but no problem was occurred
at that time.
Of course, there is subtle part in it.
But when usual file is broken, there might be no serious problem.
