bumping this bug because it hasn't seen a reply in 3 months,
because I just stumbled over bug 267648, which does basically the same thin=
g,
and now I'm wondering if I should've modelled my netlink patches after those
patches?
also: do we need an exp-run? etc=E2=80=A6
