If the OP has 'dovecot' all ready installed, that might be a viable option. Otherwise, he would be better off to simply configure SASL2 correctly. I would strongly recommend that the OP reads the Postfix documentation on SASL as well as visiting: <http://postfix.state-of-mind.de/patrick.koetter/saslfinger/> and downloading and running the 'saslfinger' utility.
