Checking out of 3.3-RC works for me. I didn't think this question belonged on stable tho. Anyway, when the system rebooted I noted the following error message (which does not appear in dmesg BTW) ================= Warning: Defective Objects D State: down Device Avail: 0/0 MB ================= I know I didn't receive this error before the 'make world' and I have been using the exact same vinum configuration (with any changes) for 2 or 3 months. As the topic says, it's non-fatal, but I would like to know what I can do about this error message, because I assume it shouldn't be there. Or if it's a bug I'd like to bring it to Greg's attention. Here's the output of 'vinuim l' if it's helpful. ================== Configuration summary Drives: 3 (4 configured) Volumes: 1 (4 configured) Plexes: 1 (8 configured) Subdisks: 3 (16 configured) D a State: up Device /dev/wd0s1h Avail: 0/5713 MB (0%) D c State: up Device /dev/wd2s1a Avail: 0/5006 MB (0%) D b State: up Device /dev/wd3s1a Avail: 0/9715 MB (0%) V usrvol State: up Plexes: 1 Size: 19 GB P usrvol.p0 C State: up Subdisks: 3 Size: 19 GB S usrvol.p0.s0 State: up PO: 0 B Size: 5713 MB S usrvol.p0.s1 State: up PO: 5713 MB Size: 9715 MB S usrvol.p0.s2 State: up PO: 15 GB Size: 5006 MB ================== uname -a FreeBSD cartman.weeble.dyndns.org 3.3-RC FreeBSD 3.3-RC #4: Tue Sep 14 23:59:19 EDT 1999 cjm2@cartman.weeble.dyndns.org:/usr/src/sys/compile/CARTMAN i386 Thanks for any suggestions that won't trash my plex. -Chris To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
