Subject:   Log files (newbie)

My question about log files is ... how do you get rid of them.. I want to
delete some of the stuff on the logs but I don't know the correct way to do
this.

I know that there is a unix command to create a file that has nothing on
it.. maybe that is the answer.  And what would happen if I just delete the
file.  Will a new one be created?  Or will FreeBSD complain that it can't
find the original file all the time?
