I am running 4.3-stable on a machine with a SB16 isa card. i have in my kernel: device pcm device sbc just like that, since ive read that 4.3 doesnt need all the extra irq/drq/flags stuff in this particular instance. in my dmesg i get: sbc0: <Creative SB16/SB32> at port 0x220-0x22f, 0x330-331, 0x388-38b irq 5 drq 1,5 on isa0 sbc0: sb_reset_dsp device_probe_and_attach: sbc0 attach returned 6 ive used ./MAKEDEV snd0 in /dev and dont receive any error. ive also run it for snd1. alternatively ive also used sh MAKEDEV. do i need to also run it for pcaudio? or something else? cat sndstat tells me device not configured. ive tried to ./MAKEDEV sbc0 - but no such animal. i notice that the ports semmed scattered about - is this a problem or normal? is this telling me theres a conflict? and the drq part reads 1,5 - is this a problem or normal? how can i go about fixing either issue? thank you, you folks are the greatest! _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
