The whole point for me to setup this box is so that I can learn a little about FreeBSD. We are using it on our webservers, but I have to depend on someone else to do all the upkeep. BTW We tried the Netware offerings (We are primarily a Netware shop), All that the boys in Redmond, Wa. Had to offer, and FreeBSD/Apache blew their doors off!

I guess I need to re-compile the generic kernel to support the old SCSI board. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I have an understanding of PC-Architecture as it applies to the other Oses I'm just a Unix-Newbie.

The box will also have a 3c509 NIC, standard VGA (An old Orchid card), WangTek QIC-02 tape and a Digiboard PC/4

TIA

Gary

Compile a new kernel if possible and add the following line in the
controllers section.. I added mine just before all the other SCSI controlers
listed.

controller wds0 at isa? port 0x350 bio irq 15 drq 6 vector wdsintr

Of course the port io address, irq and drq depends on your card jumper
settings.

If you are unable to compile your own kernel and need a boot floppy maybe I
or some other kind soul can compile and create a boot floppy image with wds0
support.
