If it is a repeatable problem, include info on how to repeat it... many of us have CDROM's and can setup an NFS test :-) -Matt :OBTW, while somebody's looking into NFS and mount, I still (with a :kernel from mid-November) get panics when mounting a CD-ROM with :mountd running. I can try to get a kernel dump with a newer kernel if :anybody's interested. : :Speaking of kernel dumps, what happens to physical memory pages when :they're not in use? Are they zeroed? If not, is it possible to add a :kernel option that zeroes out unused pages, or fills them with a fixed :pattern (e.g. f001f001 og deadbeef)? That would make kernel dumps more :compressible... : :DES :-- :Dag-Erling Smorgrav - des@flood.ping.uio.no : : Matthew Dillon Engineering, HiWay Technologies, Inc. & BEST Internet Communications & God knows what else.
