aml == acpi machine language
asl == acpi source language

you need iasl from the ports/devel/acpicatools.  Something like

    iasl foo.asl

will create acpi_dsdt.aml.  You may need some options
depending on your asl file (for example, -i to ignore errors
and create acpi_dstl.aml in any case).
