Dear Sirs.

We run a FreeBSD (4.2-STABLE) box as our SQL server (running MySQL 3.23.32).
Several clients should have access to the MySQL server, most of them are
Windows 2000 machines running Access 2000 or StarOffice 5.2 for Windows.

We also have a growing population of FreeBSD boxes as clients running
StarOffice. My problem is, how to get connected via MyODBC (version
2.50.36) with the MySQL server? I used either the MyODBC 2.50.34-port
or the MyODBC 2.50.36 driver compiled with iODBC 2.50.3.

I tried to use MyODBC for UNIX with StarOffice for UNIX but without
success. StarOffice does not rcognize the MyODBC configuration.

Does anyone has any idea how to check the installation, means: is there
a simple way to check whether odbc installation could be find or not?

Is StarOffice capable (the FreeBSD port) of connecting via ODBC?

Sorry, if you feel bothered by this, but documentation on how to configure
iODBC or MyODBC is something weird for me

Thanks in advance,
Oliver
