Yes, you can make it work. Most likely you want to share files with Windows on a local area network, read up on the Samba package. (Samba acts as a Windows file and print server). You may also want to share your Internet connection. Depending on your situation, you will generally have a few choices wrt how you configure things. Now, you say "a computer running FreeBSD and Windows XP"... Do you have two computers, one with each operating system, or do you have both operating systems installed on the same machine? If it is the latter case, you will need something like vmware to run both operating systems at the same time. After that is successfully configured, the configuration should be much the same as if you had two separate machines. That being said, I don't really know why you'd want to go to that much trouble. ;-) - Ryan > any help will be appreciated. > > thank you > > shawnjt@telocity.com > -- Ryan Thompson <ryan@sasknow.com> Network Administrator, Accounts SaskNow Technologies - http://www.sasknow.com #106-380 3120 8th St E - Saskatoon, SK - S7H 0W2 Tel: 306-664-3600 Fax: 306-664-1161 Saskatoon Toll-Free: 877-727-5669 (877-SASKNOW) North America To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
