The issue is likely that you have a broken BIOS. Before 5.2, we didn't use the APIC on non-SMP boxes. Now we use it if it's available. Try this in loader.conf to disable APIC irq routing: hint.apic.0.disabled=1 If that doesn't work, you might have luck commenting out the override code that generates the printf you show above. -Nate
