hi kelvin,
   If you haven't disabled your other ttys, then you
can still login. CTL + ALT + F[1-8] key combination
will help you. Don't enter anything in the xdm. Try
the above mentioned keys combination. if you haven't
disabled the other ttys, then you will able to see
text  login prompt.
