Being a new unix user, I don't know much aboutsetting up the system (ok almost nothing, but I'm struggling along and I can use it some). What I can tell you is that I know my computer history, including UNIX. In the 80s (I think 86) a hacker at stanford was hacking in went by the name PFloyd. They ran BSD unix. When the guy hacking into LBL (also running BSD Unix) he went to see if the ppl on that system were mentioning PFloyd, so he started scouring the system for it. But he got his info from a newspaper, and the paper misreported the name of PFloyd as Pink Floyd, so he searched for that instead. This helped the LBL people to be sure that their hacker wasn't PFloyd. The LBL hacker was a german named Markus Hess. On a related note, some people both use FreeBSD and listen to Pink Floyd (Like me). Anything I missed? root@isis.dynip.com wrote: > (High) Newbies, > Can any one tell me what's the relation between FreeBSD and Pink Floyd > Thanks. > -- > - MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU. ~o .^. > ---------------------------- ___ o~ .00 ) > Static Email : osiris2002@yahoo.com /| o~ /)( > Bouncing Email : root@isis.dynip.com / | | \ > Web Site : http://isis.dynip.com:80 (Frames) ___/ | / \ > Anon FTP Site : ftp://isis.dynip.com:21 (anonymous) | /''___/ / | > Gopher Site : gopher://isis.dynip.com:70 | /'''/___/ | > Network News : isis.dynip.com (Read, Post, Xfer) __|/'''/ > Mailing Lists : majordomo@isis.dynip.com (public) > pgp key : finger root@isis.dynip.com > > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org > with "unsubscribe freebsd-newbies" in the body of the message -- Laurence Berland, Stuyvesant HS Debate <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Windows 98: n. useless extension to a minor patch release for 32-bit extensions and a graphical shell for a 16-bit patch to an 8-bit operating system originally coded for a 4-bit microprocessor, written by a 2-bit company that can't stand for 1 bit of competition. http://stuy.debate.net icq #7434346 aol imer E1101 To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-newbies" in the body of the message
