I'm trying to install FreeBSD 3.1 on a Compaq Presario 5184. The config details are.... 1. Presario 5184 with 64MB Ram and 4 Mb synchronized Video Ram. Effectively system RAM is 60 MB 2. HDD is 6 GB 3. Monitor is MV500 The problem is that after starting X Windows, the screen just displays thick horizontal lines. When I move the mouse , these lines move along with that. I have tried diff scanning rates, types of server etc... Please help me on this.
