It was a "y" with two dots above it. I noticed this at least on one JDK (the Sun Linux JDK 1.3.0_01). I can't test other JDK's at the moment, because I'm reinstalling FreeBSD at the moment, and I'm having trouble getting XFree86 4.0.2 running :) BTW: I noticed that a linux-jdk1.3 was erected in /usr/ports/java. Way to go! I just wonder if HotSpot should not be disabled. When I run java -version I get: bash-2.04$ /usr/local/linux-jdk1.3.0/bin/java -version java version "1.3.0" Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.0) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.3.0, mixed mode) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM warning: cannot uninstall alt signal stack Wasn't this a problem due to some incompatibility between Linux and the FreeBSD Linux emulation layer? Oh, and I enabled soft updates for my new harddisk (Atlas 5, LVD), wonder if that's gonna make things run any faster :) -- Ernst To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-java" in the body of the message
