I've got a Radeon 9200 AGP (which is supposed to be a cheaper version of the 7000?) running on a uniprocessor amd64. On my system, drm0 shares an interrupt with the ethernet card without problems. Does it work if you boot a non-SMP kernel? If so it could be that the DRI code is not completely SMP safe.
