It was a configuration failure in the "clients" file that showed up only in the new 2.0.1 radius release ! A collegue of mine added the "raw" ip address just for the case the DNS server dies ... So we had two entries for one host ! IP address _and_ FQDN ! And this was the culprit ! The indication for this error was the following line in the radius debugging file and in the syslog logfile: Apr 1 10:03:40 klemm2 radius[11082]: could not cache client datum for host 195.90.205.1 Apr 1 10:03:40 klemm2 radius[11082]: could not cache client datum for host 195.90.205.3 "because it was already there" !!! clients.bogus: ------------- usr01.hightek.com XXXX-not-for-YOU cisco4-bk.hightek.com XXXX-not-for-YOU 195.90.205.1 XXXX-not-for-YOU 195.90.205.3 XXXX-not-for-YOU clients.ok: ---------- 195.90.205.1 XXXX-not-for-YOU 195.90.205.3 XXXX-not-for-YOU I thought I let you know this in case you trap into this problem as well.
