The following reply was made to PR i386/72960; it has been noted by GNATS. From: "vn@dsynk.net" <vn@dsynk.net> To: bug-followup@FreeBSD.org,gavers@mac.com Cc: Subject: Re: i386/72960: BTX halted with Promise Tx2000 Raid Date: Sun, 15 Jan 2006 07:18:26 -0500 (EST) Experiencing same problem. MSI-9129 with Promise PDC20276 (MBfasttrak133) onboard raid controller, using raid 1 setup. All ide drives are attached to raid controller other then cd drive booting cd images. Brand new array, drives are blank. Attempting to install 6.0-RELEASE-i386-disc1.iso or 6.0-RELEASE-i386-bootonly.iso ends with some unreadable values scrolling vertically across screen in rapid succession. Rebooting machine pauses text briefly with values and "BTX Halted" message. Message format is similar to message noted in derekm.nospam@rogers.com message. Can not verify if it is exactly the same or not since text is there for extremely short period of time when resetting. Have no method to capture. Booting from 6.0-RELEASE fdd images works fine. FBSD 4.11 operates without a hitch on the same system. Regards, vn
