I had cvs updated /usr/src/sys and went through about four interations of extremely unstable kernels before I realized that I had forgotten to update /usr/src/contrib/sys (i.e. the softupdates part of the kernel). Oops! Anyone using softupdates needs to remember to update both parts of the source tree. Updating just /usr/src/sys isn't good enough. -Matt
