I have exactly the same problem on my 600E, and if you dig the mailing list,
there is my mail (from previuos week I think).
I ended up with making small script which does it for me.
Seems that it's rather hardware "feature" than FreeBSD issue.
I noticed that it usually happends if I boot from NT. When I poweron the
computer in FreeBSD mode, it usually pcm1 and it works.
Tell me, does lmmon work on your computer with
device intpm
device smbus
device smb
?
Mine doesn't work. Another "feature" of this thinkpad is that I couldn't manage
to use "serial port", "modem" and "IrCOMM" at the same time, it doesn't have
enought interrupts, and from what I understood sio driver doesn't support
irq sharing on different devices. I think FreeBSD doesn't support this at all.
I'm trying to port linux' tpctl (thinkpad control tool) to freebsd.
It already compiles, now I'll need to use /dev/io instead of their module I
guess.
Does anyone ever tried to do it before?
