Yes I've seen this too :-(

Feeling conscientious, I decided to do a make world to see if it would go away,
it's obvious someone expects something like
	setenv GZIP gzip
to come from share/*.mk or some such,
but a simple make install of src/ didnt solve it for me,
Anyway, my machine's so busy that make world has been suspended a lot,
& its still not through, but _if_ it turns out not to be that, & to be
somebody's bad commit of doc Makefiles, without a chronologically preceeding
commit into /usr/share/mk, I think the person should take a conical hat
& retire into a corner for a while ;-)
This make world has been eating my performance for too long :-(
