hmm..because sometime i find strange directories that ppl with funny
sence of humour make..they clear your screen and do other unpleasant things..
Or at least you can't change into them..

This is actually more ftp than ls problemm...on the local tty you can make theese 
characters to be echoed as ^X anyway...
