Since this appears to be a PCI and SMP related problem, I want to
look into this from the PCI point of view. But I'm currently totally
overloaded with work, and won't have any spare time to spend for a 
few more days :(

I'll scan the other messages belonging to this thread, and will look
for questions that have a quick answer. Everything else will have to 
wait, sorry ...
