I started this thought about a month ago here for a New York City UG, and am about to push on that. Maybe through the news letter and www.freebsd.org we can encourage and coordinate this. This is a kind of 'think globally, act locally.' Local user groups can take advantage of oportunities to appear and educate. The FreeBSD Inc. side can take responsibility for national/international media. The local UGs will be able to contribute both material as well as momentum to the effort.
