The FreeBSD version is 2.2-RELEASE running on a Gateway mini-desktop 486/dx2 66 machine. (motherboard Intel Classic R MBD 0048B02) When i try to connect using ppp or kermit, the system hangs. With PPP dial or term commands, it waits for ever and i never get back the control. I have to resort to hardware RESET. During boot-up time it sees the port sio2 and recognizes that it as 16550A. On the same system, i had used USR 14.4kbps data modem without any problem. I have been trying to find a fix and would appreciate your suggestions. (PS. The same problem exists on 2.1/2.1.5/2.1.6/2.2-GAMMA releases.) -- ---------------------------------------------------------- Vijay/Mrudula vjmrudula@worldnet.att.net ----------------------------------------------------------
