After the project was "put on hold" I started hacking the Voxware 3.5 mad16 driver, but gave up eventualy, because of lack of support (I am an EE hacking Unix for fun -I am not a wizzard hacker like some of you). I also had a sense of lack of organization, since the whole Voxware thing was a big hack and I just don't have sufficient knowledge / cloud to be able to dictate a direction. But, it looks like the time is right. If the project could be given a direction and momentum (such as Steve Passe and the SMP group did with their project - they also did a great job providing "getting started" tutorials - very important if you want to get "new volunteers") I think we can get somewhere.
