I used the 8.0-BETA4 amd64 bootonly CD to boot a FSC RX330 S1 server which has a built-in LSI megaraid. I sucessfully installed 7.2-i386 on that same hardware before. The resulting dmesg.boot can be found at http://www.nepustil.net/support/tmp/dmesg.boot-7.2-i386 The error in the FreeBSD Disklabel Editor (when I used "w" to trigger the necessary newfs calls) was: Unable to find device node for /dev/mfid0s1b in /dev The Creation of filesystems will be aborted. Using an emergency shell, I typed: cd /dev echo * and found only the following device nodes: mfi0 mfid0 mfid0s1 mfid0s2 but no mfid0s1a, 1b, ... Something is going wrong, any ideas ?
