This member of re@ feels that this falls into the class of "would be really nice to have, but non-critical" patches. If you look at the changes that *have* been committed thus far to RELENG_4_6, almost all of them were in response to security advisories. We're also very close to releasing (package builds are running now), and non-critical changes at this stage become very difficult to justify. We had hoped to get 4.6.2 out sooner, but that was difficult partially because of a rash of new security issues that needed to be dealt with.
