I just tried again with a 9.2 live cd, and there it still works. This is on an Acer 5553g (amd danube / mobile phenom) machine with the AMD RS880 series chipset + SB820 southbridge. Any ideas, even to just switch off this annoying error msg? Thanks, Mathias
