I actually kind of like it. More importantly, you'll need to update Mk/bsd.apache.mk regarding APACHE_PORT. And every end-user will need to update /etc/make.conf to reflect this too. If might be useful to coordinate this with the default switch from 1.3 to 2.2 b/c then supposedly most people who are using 2.2 can simply remove then line. And the fewer, still needing 1.3 will need to add one anyway.
